Atto primo Premierenbesuch

Premiere Visit "Die Zauberflöte"

Mozart’s final opera transports us into a world full of magic, trials and mysterious symbols, telling a story of the search for inner strength, maturity and the overcoming of fears. Between light and shadow, a universal panorama of human experience unfolds – carried by Mozart’s profound music and its powerful appeal to our shared humanity.

Following her acclaimed appearance as Rosalinde in "Die Fledermaus" last season, Regula Mühlemann returns to the Zurich Opera House in the 2026/27 season to take on the role of Pamina in the new production.

The production is directed by the internationally renowned Ticino-born director, clown and theatre founder Daniele Finzi Pasca, who was awarded the Hans Reinhart Ring, the highest distinction in Swiss theatre, in 2012. His poetic visual language and combination of opera with spectacular circus and acrobatic elements promise an imaginative and extraordinary interpretation of Mozart’s masterpiece.

Musical direction is in the hands of the young Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski, who is already one of the world’s most sought-after conductors.

The new production of "Die Zauberflöte" is supported by Atto primo. We thank all Atto primo members for their valuable support!
