«Meet the Chorus», 6 February 2026
Giuseppe Verdi’s «Messa da Requiem» is one of the most powerful works in the concert repertoire. Monumental and deeply emotional, it challenges the choir in all its facets – from hushed intimacy to overwhelming outbursts of sound. In a striking co-production by Zurich Opera and Zurich Ballet, choreographer Christian Spuck has brought the work to the stage as a fusion of dance, abstract scenery, space, and light, creating an experience that is as intense as it is aesthetically captivating. From 20 February, the production will once again be seen at the Zurich Opera House.
On Friday, 6 February, we warmly invite you to «Meet the Chorus» and, as an Atto Primo member, offer you the unique opportunity to take a seat in the middle of the choir during a rehearsal with chorus director Ernst Raffelsberger. Experience up close how voices, space, and expression come together, and how a powerful overall sound emerges from many individual voices.

18:00 – Welcome
18:15 – Start of the choir rehearsal with chorus director Ernst Raffelsberger
Approx. 20:30 – End, followed by an invitation to an Apéro at the bar Sphères
